Among the Bontoc, the man with headhunter status is allowed to wear the Tangkil. This armband is composed of two tusk’s joined together by basketry weaving, and in finer examples, a small Bulol figure. This particular piece shows a Bulol figure seated inward, with a very dark and crusty patina.
