Meat Container/TangongoHT: 41 CMS |
This very old example of a Bontoc meat container is distinguished by its organic shape and crusty patina. Two knobs in zoomorphic form serve as the handles, the cover is a plain plank of wood, much worn by the years. The severe simplicity of the piece is only broken by the grooved lines that run around the length of the container. There is native repair (gum? Resin?) Patching the cracks on the inside of the piece. All in all, the container stands out with its bold and massive design.
