Fiddle HT: 57 CMS |
The Ilongot were a much-feared tribe of warring headhunters inhabiting the province of Nueva Vizcaya, on the lower slopes of the Eastern Cordillera. Their material culture consists of very finely-wrought personal adornments. This guitar shows the elegant, minimalist lines that characterizes their shields and larger objects. The fiddle itself has twine string, the bamboo bow, has a string of human hair. The wood has a dark, smokey patina, now showing a subtle sheen. It comes with a custom-made stand.
